This guide will show you how to add your email account to the Microsoft Outlook app on your Android device.

Before you begin, make sure you have:

Step 1 – Install and Open Outlook

If you haven't already, download Microsoft Outlook from the Google Play Store.

Open the Outlook app.

If this is your first time opening Outlook, tap Add Account.

If you already have another account configured:

  1. Tap your profile icon in the top-left corner.

  2. Tap the Settings (⚙️) icon.

  3. Tap Add Email Account.

  4. Tap Add an Email Account.

Step 2 – Enter Your Email Address

Type your full email address.

Example:

yourname@yourdomain.com

Tap Continue.

If Outlook does not configure the account automatically, select IMAP when prompted.

Step 3 – Configure the Incoming Mail Server (IMAP)

Enter the following information:

Setting Value
Email Address Your full email address
Username Your full email address
Password Your email password
IMAP Server mail.yourdomain.com
Port 993
Security Type SSL/TLS

Tap Next or Continue.

Step 4 – Configure the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)

Enter the following settings:

Setting Value
SMTP Server mail.yourdomain.com
Port 587
Security Type STARTTLS or TLS
Authentication Enabled
Username Your full email address
Password Your email password

Tap Sign In, Done, or Continue, depending on your Outlook version.

Step 5 – Complete the Setup

Outlook will verify your account settings.

If everything is correct, your mailbox will open automatically and your emails will begin syncing.

Your email account is now ready to send and receive messages.

Helpful Tips

  • Always use your full email address as the username.

  • Make sure your password is entered correctly (passwords are case-sensitive).

  • Replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name when entering the mail server (for example, mail.example.com).

  • We recommend using IMAP, as it keeps your emails synchronized across your phone, computer, and webmail.

  • If Outlook displays a certificate or security warning, verify that the server name matches mail.yourdomain.com before continuing.
