This guide will show you how to add your email account to the Microsoft Outlook app on your iPhone or iPad.

Before you begin, make sure you have:

Step 1 – Install and Open Outlook

If you haven't already, download Microsoft Outlook from the App Store.

Open the Outlook app.

If this is your first time opening Outlook, tap Add Account.

If you already have another account configured:

  1. Tap your profile icon in the top-left corner.

  2. Tap the Settings (⚙️) icon.

  3. Tap Add Email Account.

Step 2 – Enter Your Email Address

Type your full email address.

Example:

yourname@yourdomain.com

Tap Continue.

If Outlook doesn't configure your account automatically, tap Set Up Account Manually and select IMAP.

Step 3 – Configure the Incoming Mail Server (IMAP)

Enter the following information:

Setting Value
Email Address Your full email address
Username Your full email address
Password Your email password
IMAP Server mail.yourdomain.com
Port 993
Security Type SSL/TLS

After entering the information, tap Next.

Step 4 – Configure the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)

Enter the following settings:

Setting Value
SMTP Server mail.yourdomain.com
Port 587
Security Type STARTTLS or TLS
Authentication Enabled
Username Your full email address
Password Your email password

Then tap Sign In, Save, or Done, depending on your version of Outlook.

Step 5 – Complete the Setup

Outlook will verify your account settings.

If everything is correct, your inbox will open automatically and your emails will begin syncing.

Your email account is now ready to send and receive messages.

Helpful Tips

  • Always use your full email address as the username.

  • Double-check that your password is entered correctly (passwords are case-sensitive).

  • Replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name when entering the mail server (for example, mail.example.com).

  • We recommend using IMAP, as it keeps your emails synchronized across your iPhone, computer, and webmail.

  • If Outlook displays a security or certificate warning, verify that the server name is mail.yourdomain.com before continuing.
